Keep Your Audience Informed With This One Simple Trick!

Back around May, I took a course on Teachable called “The Mari Method: How to Quickly Increase Your Reach, Results & Revenue on Facebook” by Mari Smith because I wanted to learn how to effectively promote my blog on Facebook. I can write, but um…self-promotion was NOT one of my strong points. So imagine my horrified shock when I learned that less than 10% of my audience will see my content organically!

WHAT!? At that time, I only had a few hundred followers (which in itself was a challenge to earn), and now you mean to tell me that I’ll be lucky if more than ten of those people will even be NOTIFIED that I posted something new!? (cue internal screaming)

Deep sigh…to be honest, once I calmed down from my mild tantrum long enough to watch the rest of the explanation, it made sense…in a way.

Think about it

Facebook has over two billion users! TWO FREAKIN’ BILLION! Now, some of us post multiple times a day, and some of us post maybe a few times a year. Either way, that’s a LOT of content that’s trying to grab our attention! Even with using relevant hashtags, our public posts are still fighting for attention from posts that’s set to be shown to just family and friends.

If we want to even break through a little bit for a “possible” targeted audience to see our content on Facebook, guess what we have to do? That’s right! We have to bring out that money, money, money to either boost the post or create an ad for it!

I still occasionally boost my posts if the budget is there. However, it still feels like a hit or miss sometimes since I have to experiment with finding the ideal targeted audience. For those who are actively waiting to be notified when a new post is published, there is a more simplified method to notifying them that isn’t limited to Facebook’s algorithm!

And that’s through EMAIL!

Now hang on a minute for anyone who just about choked on their coffee or tea or whatever from compressing a scoff. Believe it or not, email is STILL a relevant source of communication even today! Yes, social media allows for live and immediate updates. That also means that our content becomes “older news” in less than a few hours!

Sheesh! That’s a lot of pressure!

However, please tell me that I’m not the only one still opening emails from last week. LAST week, y’all! Let’s say I was subscribed to your newsletter and you published something ten days ago. I most likely didn’t see it in my social media feed, but I have a copy of your notification that I can open at my earliest convenience in my inbox! Isn’t that a lot better than trying to guesstimate what day and time your audience will be online at the same freakin’ moment, including time-zone changes!?

This is why I am writing to you!
